First of all, Congratulations to the show for recently celebrating 100 episode. That’s a major milestone for any show.

With no new episode this week and some of you filling in the blanks with the Oceanic 6 retrospective airing tonight, I thought I give all of you a list of some of my favorite “Lost” resources. On night’s like these when there’s no show or during the long eight month hiatus, perhaps a little extracurricular “Lost” fun will help fill the void.

Some of them are officially associated with the show, while others are not. Some may help viewers form theories or catch up on the intricacies of this complicated show. Many are just fun and also work wonders when bored.

Either way, I hope there will be at least one new find here for everyone.

• Jimmy Kimmel is a big fan of the show, too. Luckily, his late night gig is also on ABC. In effort to help all of us better understand the deeper meanings of the shows, he has cast members make short 10-20 seconds videos about the “Secrets of Lost.” So far there are eight. They can all be found on youtube. The one’s with Michael Emerson (Benjamin Linus) kill me. All I wish to reiterate is “Stay in school kids.”

• For those who own or rent the DVD’s, make sure to look for the “Easter Egg” extras hidden among the discs. One very thorough resource, Lostpedia.com has a page where a guide to finding all of these extra extras is laid out by season.

• There are a myriad of forums where fans discuss each episode after it airs, posting screencaps to see details otherwise missed, propose theories, and in general dissect every scene. One of the most well known sites, TelevisionWithoutPity.com is a favorite. They have forums and re-caps for almost all prime time shows. On ew.com, the magazine’s Doc Jensen regularly posts blogs and there are videos from on set interviews with the cast. Docarzt is another well-known blogger who posts pictures, interviews, and other spoilerish info for those who want it.

• For the serious fan with extra time, there are podcasts available through abc.com for each episode. Executive producers and show runners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are part of the installments.

• Both Oceanic and Ajira Airlines have a home on the web.

• Jorge Garcia (Hurley) has his own blog. While he only occasionally mentions the show, he posts funny little anecdotes, pictures, and sometimes video. His blog entitled “Dispatches From the Island,” is updated often, so check it out.

While we each await next week new episode, here my re-cap of last week’s edition:

“Some Like It Hoth,” (episode 13) was a bit of a disappointment. That’s not to say there weren’t bright moments, but after the previous episode, it was a letdown.

For “Star Wars” fans, there were some funny moments. Hurley writing Empire Strikes Back for George Lucas? Love how his adorably nerdy fandom matches that of some “Lost” fans I know (not myself, of course!). Who wouldn’t want to try and rewrite a movie they’ve seen too many times to count?

Well, on to more important plot lines. So, this episode was all about Miles. While utterly predictable, it was nice to see his parental story play itself out on the Island. How did he figure it out? Love how he saw his mom standing behind him in the lunch line!

I have to say, though, that I prefer the snarky, mysterious Miles over the unsure, emotionally bound one we saw in this episode. However, character development is crucial. Hopefully he’s able to move on now.

The most intriguing moment of the episode (outside of the 14? facial piercings Miles sported during part of his flashback :)) was his kidnapping incident. The man Bram, who is now on the Island thanks to the Ajira flight, sounded as if maybe he’s associated with Ben or perhaps someone else seeing as how he was desperately trying to convince Miles not to go on the freighter mission.

We know how that turned out. Speaking of such things, it was nice to see the $3.2 million blackmail attempt from last season explained. It sure does pay well to be ghost buster.

Also intriguing was that this guy Bram echoed Ilana’s question posed to Frank Lapidus last week, “What lies in the shadow of the statue?”

While I’m not yet enraptured by their high-strung inquisitiveness, perhaps after four seasons finding out more about the statue and its history will be a reward worth that is worth its long wait. My one question regarding that would be, isn’t the statue (as of 2008) only a foot with four toes? That’s the only condition it had been seen in, until one of the last flashes in an episode this season where the back half of an entire statue was briefly seen. I’m remembering when Sayid, Sun, and Jin saw the artifact, it was near the coast line with almost nothing around it. I wonder, indeed, what could be there and was is the significance?

How could you not include the Lost site DarkUFO. It's the largest Lost site on the net and has had over 100 million hits in the last 3 seasons. http://darkufo.blogspot.com also lostpedia.com
