I enjoyed tonight’s episode. This installment was mind blowing in its own way, but moved at a comfortable pace.

Time stopped. Well, sort of. The flashes have ceased and the story was told only between two points three years apart.

Before this occurred, for a brief minute it seems like they went way back into time, far back enough that the four toed statue from season one finally made its full bodied appearance. Yeah!

Sawyer, I have always loved. Tonight, however, to see how much he’s evolved was a testament to what traits were always there but buried under resentment, hatred, and pain. This character, complete with new glasses, was shown in control, yet content. Evidenced by the smile that displayed his dimples, James is finally happy.

Of course, this comes with a price. The entire three year time line, from 1974-77, displayed an effective con executed by James “La Fleur” along with Juliette, Miles, Daniel and Jin.

This con, however, was necessary due to all the time travel. They’ve barely begun to wrap their own minds around it, how would they begin to explain the reality of the situation to the Dharma

Initiative members? Then again, the “Losties” themselves have been on the receiving end of this annoying sort of secretive situation too many times.

As could have been guessed from the end of the last week’s episode, those who’ve been time flashing on the Island are now stuck in the 1970's due to Locke moving the Island and effectively fixing its place in time.

Though nice to see the Dharma in working order again, the time line remains as confusing as ever. I guess we can assume that by this point Ben must have joined Richard and the “hostiles” biding his time until he decides to initiate ‘The Purge.’

Horace who’s been seen before in flashbacks married to a different woman, marries a new character Amy (Michelle Dessler, for all you “24" fans) and has a child with her towards the end of this episode. What gives? Perhaps his first wife died or can these “new” moments actually alter the past?

Daniel has mentioned on a few occasions that the past can’t be changed. We’ve seen, however, that “new” events in the past aren’t remembered in the present until the action has occurred. I hope that sentence wasn’t as confusing to read as it was for me to write.

For example, Locke met Widmore in the 1950's during one of the time flashes. So, Widmore couldn’t have remembered the encounter until it happened, of course. Although these events are occurring in the past they can’t be memories in the future until they’ve happened. For Locke and Widmore, their encounter had only actually happened four days earlier than the conversation by which they recalled the meeting, though Widmore remembers it as if they had actually met five decades earlier.

Really, I think I have a headache trying to make sense of time on LOST.

After James’ conversation with Richard, you’d think that the senior Alpert would have a grasp on this time travel concept. I think he’s new catch phrase is: “Do I know you?” Yes, Richard, you do.

I still wonder what has happened to Rose and Bernard. Are they alive? If yes, where have they been camping out these three years?

Though I dreaded a James and Juliet romantic pairing, it more than made sense on screen. Their mature, loving relationship was nice to see. Bravo, writers!

Now that the time flash plane ride has landed the most of the Oceanic six back in the ‘70's too, the next episode looks to be exciting. Which bonds are thicker? It’s easy for us to be more attached to Hurley, Sayid, and the remaining Oceanic 815 survivors over any other characters on this show because we’ve known them for five years. As was revealed tonight, they’ve all spent three years living separate lives on and off the Island. When, in this matter, isn’t as important as how long. Whether Sawyer is truly, completely over Kate or not (I sincerely hope he is!) pales in comparison to the tension that could arise between our beloved “losties” and the Dharma Initiative.

This episode, in my mind, totally changed the framework of the show. The trajectory may be the same, but like always I’m left wanting more.

No new episode for TWO weeks. I guess if James is willing to wait as long as it takes on the Island for Locke to return, I can make it two weeks to witness at least part of the reunion.

One thing is for sure: It won’t be easy.

"We've seen, however, that "new" events in the past aren't remembered in the present until the action has occurred." I think this is only true for Desmond, who Daniel has claimed is somehow outside the normal bounds of time travel. I think we're supposed to assume that anything that the 815ers do as part of the Dharma Initiative was always supposed to happen, one way or another.
