Idoltude: American Idol boys set the bar high

Let's hear it for the boys! Well, except for Luke Menard. He still sucks. But all in all it was a pretty darn good night.

Luke Menard: He SAID his most embarrassing moment was being dressed as a girl by his big sister. But I beg to differ. I think falling flat on one of the world's cheesiest songs tops that. Sorry, Luke, but you REALLY have to go.

David Archuleta: I know, I know, Simon's right. He needs to be careful not to become too "gloomy." But with that smile, is it really even possible?

Danny Noriega: You go, girl.

David Hernandez: Last week was better, but he's got something going for him. He can tell a story through song. Not everyone can. His performance was good but forgettable.

Michael Johns: His performance was actually a disappointment to me. I didn't like it. Too breathy. Too INXS. Not enough umph. More umph, Michael!

David Cook: Kick ass! This was a great performance. The best I've seen from this David and arguably the best of the night.

Jason Castro: Ahhh... he didn't fail. I held my breath, hoping that Jason, with his pretty eyes, would impress the judges sans guitar. It worked! He was fabulous.

Chikezie: Back to Chi-cheezie this week.

My picks to go this week are Luke Menard (yes, please!) and Chikezie. Danny Noriega will probably stick around as he's still the pick for VoteForTheWorst.com. And frankly, that's fine with me. I'd rather watch him prance around the stage with his two snaps and swirl than watch Chikezie butcher another ballad. After next week we can start whittling away the real dead weight - the girls!
