"Leatherheads"
George Clooney directs and stars in this romantic comedy set in the 1925s. Clooney plays Dodge Connelly, an aging football player, who is desperate to bring an audience to the game before the professional leagues existed. He drafts a military hero, and college football star, Carter Rutherford into his team. Along the way, Carter is being written about by a cub reporter, Lexie Littleton, who doesn't believe his war stories are true. For a full review, see "Leatherheads" scores a touchdown in theatres Leatherheads is rated PG-13 and is playing at Regal Movieland 7, Regal Stadium 11, and Independence Cinema.
"Nim's Island"
"The Brave One" herself, Jodie Foster, stars aside Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine", "definitely, maybe") in this kid's movie about an island ruled by the little girl's imagination, which she has mirrored based on her favorite character. When Nim (Breslin)'s father goes missing from their island, a twist brings the reclusive author (Foster) and Nim together to rescue her father. Nim's Island is rated PG and is said to contain "mild adventure action," so don't expect "Lord of the Rings." It's playing at Regal Movieland 7, Regal Lancaster Mall Stadium 11, Independence Cinema, and Fox Theatres in Dallas.
"The Ruins"
If you're out partying on a beach somewhere and your friends get the bright idea to explore ancient Mayan ruins, find something else to do. What will end up happening is someone will break something, the place will start shaking and then evil spirits will eat your soul. There's got to be better ways of spending spring break. The Ruins is rated R and is playing at Regal Movieland 7 and Regal Santiam 11.
