New material for Kolvane
Portland-based indie blues/rock band Kolvane released their new CD, "Kill These Blues," at the end of May. Release parties in Seattle and Vancouver, Washington, launched their new album.
This is their first full length album since changing their name from Rose City Kings in 2007. According to their Myspace page, featured on the new record are songwriter and band leader Kolvane with band members Steve Kerin on keyboards and vocal, and Thom Sullivan on drums. Hershel Yatovitz, guitarist for Chris Isaak, makes a special appearance on bass.
They currently have three shows slated for June.

Salem musician to promote clean teeth
Oregon musician Loren Depping is finding a new avenue for his work, especially as a songwriter. The "Dental Hygienist" singer/songwriter knows that notoriety far outweighs CD sales and lucrative contracts when trying to break into the business.
Recently he sold his aforementioned song to be used in a fund raiser for the National Dental Hygienists Professional Association. "I've always dreamed of selling one -- it's kind of the mark of acceptance as a songwriter, in some ways," Depping said.
Not only will shows throughout the Northwest be on his calendar soon, but Depping has booked shows in the Midwest as well. On July 5 he will perform in Minneapolis. Following on June 10, a show is booked in Mason City, Iowa, and then he is on to Des Moines the following day. Depping looks to further expand his schedule with two additional Midwest-based gigs.
"I guess I'll be doing a little more traveling this summer than I'd originally thought," Depping said. For more information visit his Web site, www.myspace.com/lorendeppingmusic.
Lamb launches fundraising ticket Web site
Jazz saxophonist Patrick Lamb is expanding his production company to work with more charitably based concerts and festivals. Tickets Oregon has teamed with the Oregon Food Bank, so each ticket purchase will make a contribution.
They aim to provide low ticket fees and eco-friendly Internet- based ticketing. Recently partnering with the Waterfront Blues Festival, Tickets Oregon will provide five cruises and passes for the event.
Reservations for shows comprised by Lamb can be made only at the Tickets Oregon Web site, such as his upcoming concert series at Skamania Lodge with his band Innervision, and Pepe and the Bottle Blondes.
