"Semi-Pro"Oh, Will Ferrell, you comedic devil. Someday Ferrell will make a comedy that is not based on the 70s. Ferrell plays singer Jackie Moon who uses his one-hit-wonder riches to buy a basketball team. His team is the worst in the league and when the ABA and NBA announce their plans to merge, Jackie has to get his team up to snuff. Woody Harrelson, Andre Benjamin, and Will Arnett co-star. "Semi-Pro" is rated R and is playing at Regal Lancaster Mall Stadium 11, Regal Movieland 7, and Independence Cinema.
"Penelope"
From "Casper" to getting shackled by Samuel L. Jackson in "Black Snake Moan" to now being a girl born with the snout of a pig, Christina Ricci is one person who you can't say has followed the normal path of a child star. In "Penelope" she spends her life behind the walls of her house, due to a huge pig schnoz. She hopes that if she gets married the curse will be broken and her nose would be "normal." "Penelope" is rated PG and is playing
at Regal Santiam 11.
"The Other Boleyn Girl"
Sisters Anne and Mary Boleyn (played by Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson) are driven by their family to advance their power and status by courting the king of England. From a country life to the king's court, the girls' efforts to help their family turn into a bitter rivalry for the love of the king. One of the sisters is driven by ambition, the other by true love. Meanwhile the future of England is hangs in the balance. Eric "The Boring Incredible Hulk" Bana stars as the king.
