Move over (G.I.) Joe; St. Vincent is moving in next door.

On June 6, St. Vincent de Paul Society will open its second retail thrift store in Salem. The 16,000 sq. ft. space at 4825 South Commercial will compliment a sister store on north Portland Road.

The new store - in addition to having a large and affordable clothing selection will also showcase gently used European furniture and a stellar used books section that'll draw voracious readers and collectors.

"Another attraction here is a drive-up donation center," said Kimberly Allain, St. Vincent de Paul's Executive Director. "People have told us for years they love our commitment to local causes but can't abide the cross-town drive to donate goods. This store will give people a second convenient location to donate."

In celebration of the Grand Opening, the store will be offering lots of surprises, beyond the high-quality clothing, European furniture and vast used book collection:
·         Discount coupons from dozens of neighboring businesses
·         Discounts on selected goods when shoppers bring 3 cans of food (tuna, corn or fruit)
·         A ribbon-cutting ceremony with local dignitaries at 10:30 a.m. on June 6

Regular store hours: M - Sat. 10 - 8; Sun. 10 - 6. Call 503-364-3210 for pick up or delivery.

St Vincent de Paul Society is a major provider of emergency food and services in the Willamette Valley. All resources generated at local stores are spent on its local programs, including the Valley's largest food bank.
