Not just peddling Jell-O anymore

Bill Cosby's character in "The Cosby Show," Dr. Cliff Huxtable, was the King of Sweaters. For some reason, Cosby kept the sweaters for the 16 years since the show bowed out. Finally, they were unearthed while cleaning out closets. Cosby's daughter, Evin, decided to put them up on eBay to support the charity named for her brother, which charity supports educational programs. These ancient sweaters go up today with a minimum bid of $5,000. To bid, visit eBay. You know what's more confusing than $5,000 16-year-old sweaters? "The Cosby Show" featured a family named Huxtable; why wasn't it called The Huxtable Show?

New shows premiering this week

"fear itself" starts up this week. The show is something along the lines of a modern "Twilight Zone" where each episode has a different plot, actors, and director. And, of course, it's supposed to scare your pants off. The first one stars Rachel Miner, who plays the Suicide Girl secretary on Showtime's "Californication" and Jeffrey Pierce, who has made multiple TV appearances. This show will be interesting because of the talent connected to the project. You can catch "fear itself" on NBC, Thursdays at 10 p.m.

"Meerkat Manor" is back this week, but I still don't understand the concept. Beyond "The Lion King's" Timon, what's so interesting about meerkats? You can try figuring it out Fridays at 9 p.m. on Animal Planet.

"Old" ladies get their chance to be a model in "She's Got the Look." Of course they aren't really all that old, just not 18 years old. Instead they are all over 35. Beverly Johnson, Robert Verdi and Sean Patterson are the judges. It's good to see TV Land continuing to branch out to new original shows, but it'd be a lot better if they at least tried to appeal to the younger audiences. With "Big 4-0" and the highly successful "High School Reunion," they just aren't there yet. Instead they are just messing up my "Leave it to Beaver" viewing schedule. Oh well, catch "She's Got the Look" airs on TV Land, Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

The guy who ate McDonalds for 30 days and got paid a bazillion dollars is back on TV this week. Yes, Morgan Spurlock will now point out the flaws of the world in one hour increments. In this season's premier of "30 Days," he spends a month as a coal miner. I have to say that the shows where Spurlock works are much better than the ones where he sends in other people.
