Meeting the press
It may be too soon for some to talk about replacements for Tim Russert's seat on NBC, but in the days of 24-hour news it will happen quickly. On Sunday, former network anchor Tom Brokaw stepped in, but left the moderator's chair empty to honor Russert. Most believe that it will be hard to replace Russert with a single person, since he served so many positions at NBC. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Katie Couric, and Gwen Ifill have all been mentioned as possibilities. The chair will be a hard one to fill.
Is this what `celebrity' has come to?
NBC has moved two shows that are exploiting B list celebrities and their families. The first is "Celebrity Circus" where we get to watch Christopher Knight, of Brady Brunch and other horrible reality show fame, catch himself on fire. NBC is so happy with this one that it moved it up in the schedule. Anyone care to make a wager on how many episodes air? "Secret Talents of Celebrities" lasted one a whole airing. Personally, I'm surprised they didn't cancel it DURING the first airing. Catch "Celebrity Circus" on NBC, Wednesdays at 8 p.m. The first episode premieres this Wednesday.
The other show is "Celebrity Family Feud" where celebrity's families compete for charity. The show opener will include the families of Ice T, Joan Rivers, Raven-Symone, and Wayne Newton. Everyone's favorite weather guy, Al Roker, will host the show. You'll have to wait until next Tuesday, June 24 to catch "Celebrity Family Feud" on NBC, Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
