"The Bank Job"Jason Statham is finally in a movie where he's driving a car. Statham has a problem of being stereotyped as the good guy, non-car driving actor. "The Bank Job" is based on a high profile 1971 robbery that took place at Lloyds Bank in London. The film had a quick theatrical run bringing $30 Million. Saffron Burrows co-stars.
"Penelope"
A lonely heiress (Christina Ricci) has spent her whole life trying to break a family curse that left her with a pig nose. When she meets her Prince Charming, who is able to look past her snout, she realizes she needs to love herself first. Couldn't we all look past a pig nose if the rest of the girl was Christina Ricci? And ... SCENE.
"Shutter"
A newly married couple played by Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor, discover that there are ghostly images in photographs they develop after an accident. Of course, they do the dumb thing and try to investigate the situation instead of running away.
"Step Up 2 the Streets"
You got served while saving the last dance, waiting on the DVD for "Step Up 2 the Streets." Briana Evigan stars as a rebellious teen (go figure) who uses her dance crew to compete for money so she can go to an elite school in Maryland. Yes, this movie has been done about a bazillion times. In fact, it's time to put an end to dance movies for a while. Hollywood: We get the "Dirty Dancing" throwbacks, but please just wait a few years before you make a movie on krumping or line dancing.
