Episode two of "The Mole" is out. The ratings performance last week wasn't all that wonderful, it lost out pretty big to "CSI: Miami" reruns. Of course, the first episode was kind of lame. I think the overall smugness of the group is a big turnoff. On the other hand, "The Mole" is all about deceit and underhandedness. The mole wants to keep the team's money as low as possible, and so far either the mole is doing a great job or the smugness is undermining the team. Tonight's episode definitely continued that trend.
How about the Chilean kids decimating a bunch of adults in soccer? That was a hilarious way to start the show. Kristen is obviously still considered one of the suspects for the mole. I'm not seeing it.
In the first mission, she was the energetic one. Wouldn't the mole cause a bit more problems while it's still easy to hide? She also didn't bother to argue with Mark about the easy taxi ride for $5,000 out of the pot. Mark was also pushing to win, but he's not completely clear of the suspicion. Mark and Kristen won exemptions and the team's pot missed out on $35,000. Score one for the mole.
In the second crazy mission, Bobby sat around in a wheelbarrow the whole time and slowed down groups that were gathering the piggy banks.
For every piggy bank that they found and caught in a blanket they get $1,000 in the team pot. Mark was still suspicious in this mission as well, pushing the team to break the pigs towards the end. The less pigs caught, the less money the team makes. It was very mole-ish of him. Despite the weirdness of the mission, the team gained $28,000 in the pot.
Paul also got the third exemption, but spent a whole lot of time looking at the pig like he knew what was in it before he broke it. Could he have been trying to figure out if taking the exemption was the best play?
Alex left his journal behind, but it had no real information in it. Did he leave it on purpose or is he so full of himself that he left his only way of keeping track of the mole? I'm leaning towards dumb and cocky.
Remember that the show includes visual cues for the audience. In the past, the title sequence has contained clues. So if you are Tivo'ing the show, watch it again and try to catch any visual clues.
If you find something, share it in the comment section. One visual clue being reported is that Victoria had a fingerprint on her helmet in the raft game and no one else did.
If I had to pick the mole this week, I'd stay with my guess of last week: Mark. Runners up include Paul and Victoria.
Despite the old lady being the best "disguise" for the mole, Liz was executed and obviously not the mole. She was the least smug of the group; it's sad to see her go so early.
